چکیده
Wound infections are generally characterized by various local inflammation, usually with pus formation, in most cases which are caused by one of the pyogenic bacteria which includes Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas sp., Klebsiella spp., E. coli, etc., and which results the accumulation of dead leukocytes and infectious agent generally known as pus(Bowler et al., 2001). Wound infections cause a significant morbidity and mortality and also which is considered to be one of the most important and common hospital acquired infections worldwide. Infection in wound can have an adverse impact on the patient’s quality of life and also infected wounds are likely to be more painful, hypersensitive and odorous, resulting in increased discomfort and inconvenience for the patient (Kotz et al., 2009).

Prevalence and Antibiotic Sensitivity Pattern of Bacteria Isolated from Nosocomial Infections in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit of a Teaching Tertiary Care Health Facility
In India, nosocomial infections (NIs) in patients admitted to intensive care units are recognized as a significant problem. The rate of NIs is two to five times higher in intensive care units than that of the general inpatient population. The aim of the present study was to know the prevalence and antibiotic susceptibility pattern of bacteria isolated from patients suffering from NIs admitted i...

متن کاملEvaluation of Antibiotic Susceptibility of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella spp. Isolated from Urinary Tract Infections of Patients Attending a University Hospital in Tehran
Background and Objectives: E. coli and Klebsiella spp. are recognized as most prevalent bacteria causing urinary tract infection (UTI), the most common bacterial infection. Decreasing of antimicrobial susceptibility in urinary pathogens has made difficulty in treatment of UTI. The aim of this study was to determine antibiotic susceptibility of E. coli and Klebsiella spp. isolated from urine of ...
